PC enthusiasts have been through a tumultuous period of stock shortages and inflated prices, but breathe a sigh of relief, the outlook is beginning to appear much brighter.
DIYers have already been treated to noteworthy CPU and SSD bargains in 2023, and you can now add memory to the equation, too. Whether the flavour of choice is DDR4 or DDR5, there are good deals across the board, with multiple big-name kits dropping to the lowest prices we’ve ever seen.
Take, for example, a 32GB (2x16GB) pack of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200. Not the fanciest kit you’ll ever see, yet it ticks all the right boxes, with sleek aesthetics, C16 timings at 1.35V, and most importantly, a best-ever price tag of £71 ($74.99 in the States). Don’t need as much capacity? Corsair’s 16GB (2x8GB) pack of the same speed is also reduced to £40.99 / $47.98.
Kingston Fury BEast

At the upper end of the market, DDR5 has gone from overly expensive to perfectly reasonable. There’s no better example than a 64GB (2x32GB) kit of high-end Kingston Fury Beast RGB. The dual-channel DDR5-6000 pack, available in a choice of AMD EXPO or Intel XMP variants, has plummeted in price to £260 / $285.
Still a fair chunk of change for a single upgrade, but remember, it wasn’t long ago that 32GB of DDR5 fetched similar money!
Prefer something a little more conservative? A 32GB (2x16GB) pack of Adata XPS Caster DDR5-6000 offers a good mix of speed, latency and capacity, and is now almost half price at £113.

Prime opportunity to increase performance, capacity, or both. It’s great to see some genuine bargains for the PC aficionado, now wouldn’t it be nice if graphics cards followed suit? Here’s hoping.
