Finding a dinky SSD that’s primed and ready for Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, or the array of upcoming handhelds is a tough task in itself, let alone at an affordable price. Thankfully, Micron has heard your plight, cutting the cost of its Crucial P310 down to its best price ever.
If you’re looking to bolster your portable’s storage, then Crucial P310 2230 2TB is your best option. Rocking up to 40% off, you can grab it on Amazon for just $160 in the US, £135 in the UK, or as low as €160 in Europe. Some of these listings have never been cheaper. The 1TB model also boasts a hefty discount at $100, £75, and €89.99 in each respective region.

Don’t confuse this with the full-sized 2280 model of the same name, which also has its lowest-ever reduction. 1TB sits at $71.99 in the US, while parts of Europe can get the beefier 2TB version up to 34% cheaper at €140. It won’t fit in your handheld, unless you use a newer Asus ROG Ally X, but you can check out all deals by clicking the buttons above.
Despite their difference in length, specs for both sizes are identical. The 2TB models push 7,100MB/s sequential read and 6,000MB/s sequential write speeds, nearly saturating the entirety of their PCIe 4.0 bandwidth. There’s also a 440TBW (terabytes written) endurance and a five-year warranty should anything go wrong.

To give you an idea of real-world performance, I put game loading times to the test in my review. Cyberpunk 2077 goes from boot to gameplay in under 40 seconds, while it’ll take you less than ten seconds to get into the action in The Witcher 3. Not bad at all considering there’s no onboard DRAM to speed things up.
Six months later, it remains my go-to mini SSD for handhelds and I can’t see that changing any time soon. Amazon covers all models with a 30-day return guarantee, so you can change your mind at any point in the first month of purchase.
