Good sound is arguably far more important than good visuals. After all, viewers are far more forgiving with low resolution content than they are if they can’t understand what’s spoken. Fortunately, you don’t need to choose between one or the other, as Razer Seiren V3 Chroma brings a welcome upgrade to both, and the microphone is currently cheaper than ever.
Featuring a hefty 28% discount, you can grab the matte black condenser mic for under $100 or £100 on Amazon, while the pink quartz model is still discounted at a bit more of a premium. UK residents will save the most on the white version, which is nearly half-price at under £78. All colourways are a little more than €100 in Germany and France, but still a steal worth nabbing while stocks last.

Razer Seiren V3 Chroma
Elevate your streams, podcasts, and gaming comms with a plug-and-play microphone that adds more than a dash of colour to your setup.
This tiny pill-shaped microphone takes up precious little desk space, even with its included stand. I still recommend mounting onto a boom arm, as the aim is to get your receiver as close to your mouth as possible to eliminate atmospheric interruption, but the boxed stand serves most well given Seiren V3 Chroma packs built-in shock absorption to rid any desk thumps.
As you’d have guessed from its Chroma naming, switching it on for the first time is a dazzling experience filled with veritable disco lights beaming through its grille. It’s surprisingly bright, but you might want to consider dimming it a little in Razer Synapse so it doesn’t bloom on your webcam.
The RGB lighting isn’t just form, but also function. It shines a distinct red when you’ve muted the microphone via the top-loaded touch control, so you’re never caught talking into the void. You can also turn the series of LEDs into an audio metre that corresponds to your headphone volume when you’ve plugged your headset into its 3.5mm jack. And, in the event you want a stealthy approach, you can turn them off entirely.

With its 96kHz sample rate and wide 20Hz – 20kHz frequency response, Seiren V3 Chroma sounds warm right out of the box, but you can run through different equalisers in Razer Synapse to see what suits. I wasn’t always a fan of Razer Synapse, but it’s improved over the years to the point everything just feels intuitive. High-pass filter and advanced gain have distinct switches and gain its own slider that you can limit if you need.
There’s no noise suppression to lean on, which can introduce some background elements given how sensitive USB microphones are. Once you’ve gotten your setup positioned and ready to handle a supercardioid polar pattern, consider Nvidia Broadcast if you’re part of Team Green or Krisp to clean up the rest of your audio so it’s just your sultry tones coming through.
My advice is to grab the deal and try the mic out for yourself. Worst-case scanrio, you can send it back for a full refund within 30 days of purchase (14 in some European territories).
