Rather than big performance uplifts, both RTX 40 Series Super cards focus more on incremental improvements and more affordable price adjustments. You’ll need to check out our Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super review to see if this mid-generation upgrade follows suit. If you like what you see, though, here’s where to buy Nvidia’s flagship alternative.
Although you might expect to pay a premium for something inherently above RTX 4080 in the hierarchy, RTX 4080 Super comes at a discount. You may be able to find the original a little cheaper while stocks last, but the Super model acts as a direct replacement. Much like RTX 4070 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super, the RTX 4080 Super aftermarket cards cost close to their Nvidia-recommended price tag. This bodes well since Founders Edition variants fly off the shelves faster than the blink of an eye (and are indeed already sold out in most places).
Overclocked cards will set you back a little more, though they promise better performance. How much you’ll be able to eke out of it will depend, though. Nowadays, Founders Edition is so close to other brands that you might as well choose the ones that look the best and have superior customer service. That’s just my two cents, though.
As for stock, that’ll depend on your region. The US is currently struggling a little at launch, but the trend of other Super cards suggests it’ll even out in the next few days. Dare I say that the days of scalpers are finally behind us?
Whether you’re in the UK or the US, here’s where you can buy yours:

Amazon
As usual, Amazon is the first place to check, particularly if you have a Prime subscription. It usually has the best prices worldwide and the fastest delivery times. Currently, we wouldn’t recommend any RTX 4080 Supers in the US because there are only third-party listings with inflated prices.
There are some great options internationally, though. MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Super Gaming X Trio is £1,079.99 in the UK. The same graphics card is €1,259 in Italy, €1,239 in Germany, and 5,619zł in Poland. Click the unit above to check your country’s stock.

How much does Nvidia RTX 4080 Super cost?
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super sports a $999.99 MSRP. Although this still seems lofty to those who remember the days of $500 80-class graphics cards, it’s comparatively lean against the $1,199 RTX 4080 it replaces. Then again, the original GPU has since fallen below this new cost and you might be able to nab one before they’re gone for good.
Half the battle is knowing where there is some in stock and the price difference between stores. Since we’ve done the legwork there, you just need to judge what’s worth your hard-earned cash.
What are Nvidia RTX 4080 Super specs?
Here’s how Nvidia RTX 4080 Super stacks up against the original GPU and the beefier RTX 4090. If you want to see it compared with the other Ada Lovelace graphics cards and AMD’s lot, you’ll want to check out our review.

As you can see, RTX 4080 Super is based on the same die as the original and has the same 16GB GDDR6X memory. There are a few tweaks to cores and clock speeds, but they are all rather marginal.
Should you buy Nvidia RTX 4080 Super?
Nvidia’s modern 80-class cards have lost a lot of value over the years with skyrocketing prices. It didn’t help that the pandemic was the single most turbulent time for PC parts, and costs remained the same for years after. This Super refresh is the first time we’ve seen MSRPs waver. They’ll never come back down to what they used to be, but we have to appreciate the steady decline either way.
Right now, Nvidia RTX 4080 Super is the definitive graphics card under $1,000. AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX gives it a good run for its money, but nothing quite stands up to the power of Nvidia DLSS 3. If you have that kind of money to sink into an upgrade, you could do a lot worse than going with Team Green’s latest graphics card.
